Director, Machine Learning, Virtual Cell Initiative at Arc Institute

Arc Institute is hiring a Scientific Leader to build predictive machine-learning models for perturbative gene-expression and single-cell genomics, supporting its Virtual Cell Initiative. The role will lead a team of six ML research scientists and engineers, develop foundation models and agentic frameworks, collaborate with wet-lab and computational biologists, integrate multi-omics data, and mentor scientists. Candidates need a PhD in a relevant field, at least five years of machine-learning experience, team-leadership experience, and strong communication skills. The base salary is $380,000-$420,000, with an annual discretionary bonus and participation in a multi-year cash-grant program.
