Description

Takeda is hiring a Director, Modality Excellence to define and deploy global operating-system standards for indirect and enabling manufacturing processes across pharmaceutical or biotech sites. The role covers Quality operations, Engineering and Maintenance, Warehouse and Material Flow, KPI systems, standard work, diagnostics, cost optimization, deployment playbooks, and AI-enabled analytics, and reports to the Head of Value Stream Transformation. It is a full-time, two-year fixed-term position based in Lexington, Massachusetts, with a U.S. base salary range of $177,000 to $278,080.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Quality, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
Required Previous Experiences: At least 15 years of experience in manufacturing, quality operations, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, warehouse operations, operational excellence, or transformation within pharmaceutical, biotech, or another regulated industry
Experience defining and deploying standard work, KPI systems, performance standards, and operational excellence methods across multiple sites or functions
Experience using work analysis, performance management, and analytics to reduce costs, improve productivity, and strengthen process flow
Knowledge of regulated quality processes, including deviations, CAPA, change controls, investigations, and documentation workflows
Experience leading structured diagnostics, design sprints, Kaizen events, A3 problem solving, and capability-building interventions
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AVIX or similar work-measurement and work-content analysis tools
Experience with LPMS or an equivalent Lean Performance Management System
Experience identifying and deploying AI or advanced analytics use cases in operations, quality, maintenance, or warehouse environments
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Black Belt, or equivalent Operational Excellence certification
Advanced degree such as an MBA or Master’s in Engineering, Operations, Quality, or Supply Chain
Global multi-site experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or another highly regulated industry
