Director of Embedded Software & FPGA Engineering at Orbitworks

Loft is hiring a Director, Embedded Systems & FPGA Engineering to define the technical architecture and reusable platform foundations for its satellite hardware, embedded software, onboard software, and operational systems. The role leads experienced engineers and geographically distributed technical leads, sets expectations for architecture, testing, verification, security, and operational readiness, and guides technology choices involving Linux, Yocto/OpenEmbedded, CI/CD, hypervisors, RISC-V, Rust, and other platform technologies. The position requires at least 10 years of embedded systems, FPGA, firmware, or related engineering experience, including mission-critical delivery, and offers a base salary of $195,000–$275,000 per year.
