Amazon is hiring a Director of Engineering for Open Data Analytics Engines to lead a software development organization building managed analytics services on open-source engines such as Spark, Presto/Trino, Flink, and Hive. The role owns the technical roadmap for engine efficiency, query planning and optimization, distributed query execution, streaming, resource scheduling, and performance; drives design, development, testing, and deployment; mentors senior engineers and managers; and collaborates with senior executives on strategy, hiring, and resource planning. The position is based in Redmond, Washington, and offers a base salary of $264,100 to $350,000 annually plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units.
