Description
Emergence is hiring a Director of Legal to build and operate its first dedicated legal function across a portfolio of software businesses. The role serves as the primary legal contact, develops intake and triage systems, manages contracts and outside counsel, supports commercial and post-acquisition legal work, and escalates M&A, intellectual property, labor, litigation, tax, and regulatory matters. Candidates need a J.D. from an accredited law school, active U.S. bar membership, and 3–5 years of legal experience, ideally in a smaller company or early-stage in-house function. The position is remote and U.S.-based, with a base salary of $275,000–$375,000 plus a performance-based bonus and equity.
