Description

Deepgram is hiring a Director of Research to own its Text-to-Speech program end to end, including research strategy, technical bets, model development, training, evaluation, and production deployment. The role is hands-on and leadership-focused, requiring deep expertise in modern TTS and audio generative modeling, experience leading researchers and research engineers, and the ability to make complex technical tradeoffs for product, engineering, and executive audiences.

Experience building or substantially scaling a high-performing AI research organization
Experience with sophisticated evaluation systems for generative speech

Experience in fast-moving startup or research environments
