Description
Elastic is hiring a Director of Software Engineering to lead its Elasticsearch Distributed Systems organisation, which includes approximately 40 engineers and managers. The role owns long-term engineering strategy, distributed architecture, performance, scalability, reliability, cost efficiency, and serverless capabilities; leads complex engineering initiatives and senior technical leaders; manages staffing and organisational planning; and partners with product and other engineering teams. Candidates need extensive distributed systems experience, hands-on software engineering experience, strong computer science fundamentals, and a record of building effective engineering organisations. The role offers a base salary of $199,700–$315,900 USD, with higher ranges in select locations, plus stock participation and other benefits.
