Description

Skydio is hiring a Director, Solutions Engineering for SLED to lead the technical outcomes for state and local government, education, and corrections across the United States and Canada. The role builds and scales a multi-team organization, owns technical wins, site assessments, proofs of concept, integrations, airspace strategy, procurement, and customer requirements, and partners with SLED Sales and Product and Engineering. It is remote with approximately 30% travel, requires 8+ years of relevant technical experience including customer-facing work and 2+ years leading leaders, and offers an annual base salary of $196,000–$245,000 plus equity and benefits.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 8+ years of relevant technical experience, including customer-facing technical experience
2+ years leading leaders, including managing managers or a team requiring a second layer
Building organizations through fast growth, hiring, onboarding, and retaining technical people
State and local government procurement experience, including cooperative contracts, grant-funded programs, and public-sector buying cycles
Preferred Qualifications: Prior public safety service as a sworn officer, firefighter, or agency UAS program lead
Experience establishing a Drone as First Responder program from waiver through go-live and scaling dock-based, remote, and BVLOS operations
Familiarity with grant funding pathways and cooperative purchasing vehicles
Working knowledge of Salesforce, Palantir, Databricks, or equivalents
Track record of building and scaling a technical team through rapid growth
