Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is hiring a Director, Software Engineering: Retail Platform Delivery (ELERA) to own end-to-end delivery of the ELERA retail platform for strategic global retail partners. The role combines development, quality, and professional services engineering into one accountable function and serves as the customer-facing engineering authority for POS, payments, loyalty, store systems, and related programs. Responsibilities include delivering DORA-aligned production outcomes, managing architecture and technical debt, leading cross-functional teams, implementing AI-native development workflows, and establishing scalable, secure, observable, and resilient retail platform operations. The position requires 12+ years of software engineering experience, 6+ years leading engineering organizations at scale, and experience with distributed systems, cloud and edge deployments, observability, progressive delivery, and enterprise retail platforms.
