Description
The Disability Support Specialist serves as the primary contact for students and parents seeking information about disability services, academic accommodations, and general academic support. The role assesses student needs, evaluates documentation, establishes individualized education plans, coordinates accommodations with faculty and university offices, maintains confidential records, supports at-risk students, and collaborates with retention and tutoring initiatives. The position also coordinates testing accommodations, consults on housing emotional-support-animal requests, develops disability-support resources, and supervises student workers. A bachelor’s degree is required, with a master’s degree or higher preferred.
