Cloudflare is hiring a Backend Data Engineer to build, operate, and optimize large-scale distributed systems that ingest, process, store, and retrieve data across its global network. The role focuses on Go-based backend services and one of two areas: ClickHouse-based analytical database systems or data delivery and retrieval through streaming pipelines, APIs, log integrations, and alerting. Candidates need at least three years of professional software engineering experience, strong distributed-systems and production-service fundamentals, and hands-on experience with observability, performance tuning, and incident response. The position is available in Atlanta, Austin, Denver, Lisbon, Seattle, and Washington DC, with application acceptance through November 23, 2026.
