Description
The CARTS Transit Driver operates an agency transit vehicle on a scheduled route, transporting passengers to medical facilities, grocery stores, pharmacies, employment sites, and other destinations. The role includes vehicle care, pre- and post-trip inspections, route and passenger records, wheelchair assistance, de-escalation, and emergency evacuation. Applicants must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license, at least five years of driving experience, a clean driving record for the three years prior to application, and authorization for background and drug and alcohol testing. The position requires light- to medium-level physical work and the ability to operate cars, vans, and small buses.
