Description
The Direct Support Professional I provides residential habilitation and direct support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at The Taconic house. Duties include ensuring health, safety, and well-being; completing documentation; supporting meals, personal care, activities of daily living, community integration, crisis response, medication administration, transportation, and residence maintenance. The role has variable hours, may require overtime and shift coverage, and pays $20.25–$22.75, with a $19.25 rate contingent on obtaining medical certification and driver eligibility within 90 days. A high school diploma or GED, acceptable driver’s license, NYS and OPWDD background clearances, and attendance at the Red Hook orientation are required; an associate degree and one year of related experience are preferred.
