Description

Pi School is hiring a full-time EO AI Engineer (Agents & Integrations) to work in its Rome office. The role focuses on integrating Earth Observation data and services into EVE, an open-source AI platform for Earth Observation, by building agentic pipelines, connecting EO APIs and platforms, designing specialized sub-agents, and supporting community documentation. Candidates need hands-on experience with EO and geospatial technologies, Python, REST APIs, Docker, Linux, and cloud or HPC environments, along with strong English proficiency. The stated salary range is €35,000 to €55,000, with potential compensation above that range for exceptionally strong candidates.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Hands-on experience with the EO/geospatial stack, including STAC, openEO, OGC APIs, CDSE or SentinelHub, Google Earth Engine, xarray, and rasterio.
Solid Python engineering and experience building data-intensive applications or pipelines.
REST API design and integration with external services.
Experience with Docker and Linux, including cloud or HPC environments.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with LLM-based agents or tool-using systems, including function calling, multi-step orchestration, and prompt engineering for structured outputs.
Experience with remote sensing foundation models such as Terramind, Prithvi, or CLIP-based EO models.
Experience with RAG systems, including vector databases and retrieval pipelines.
Experience with satellite image processing and analysis.
Experience with CWL workflow authoring or OGC API Processes.
Open-source contributions in the Earth Observation or AI space.
