Description
The EBS Placement Engineer will develop and operate distributed systems that decide where customer data is placed across AWS's EBS storage fleet. The role involves writing placement-engine code, analyzing data, debugging complex systems, reviewing proposals, and consulting on capacity planning, migrations, performance degradation, and workload movement. It requires at least three years of professional software development experience, two years of design or architecture experience, and programming experience; preferred qualifications include a computer science degree, full software development life-cycle experience, and AI-assisted development tools. The position is based in Seattle, Washington, with a base salary of 143,700 to 194,400 USD annually.
