Description
The Echo Technologist performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures, including 2-D imaging, M-mode, Doppler, stress echo, dobutamine imaging, and transesophageal echocardiograms. The role is responsible for patient safety and comfort, equipment preparation, EMR documentation, patient identification and consent, and collaboration with healthcare teams. It requires 1–3 years of echocardiography or cardiac sonography experience, echocardiographic imaging proficiency, cardiac anatomy and physiology knowledge, ultrasound equipment operation, communication skills, and EMR documentation ability. RDMS certification or an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program is required, while BCLS is required within the first seven days of employment.
