Description
The Cardiac Sonographer performs transthoracic, exercise, pharmacological stress, and transesophageal echocardiograms; prepares patients; identifies cardiac structures and pathology; analyzes images; provides preliminary reports; maintains electronic medical records; and participates in quality improvement and continuing education. The role requires a high school diploma, diagnostic medical sonography education or equivalent certification, RDCS or RCS certification, and BLS certification, with one year of cardiac sonography experience preferred. Weekends and call are required.
