Description
Chicago Public Schools is hiring an Educational Sign Language Interpreter for a school-based role supporting Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing students in connection with the CPS Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing program at Ole A Thorp Scholastic Academy. The interpreter will accompany students to classes, provide verbatim sign language interpretation of instruction and discussions, relay student responses, assist with daily activities, and consult with teachers as needed. The role requires an associate’s degree or at least 60 college credit hours, an Illinois ISBE Sign Language Interpreter approval, and at least one year of interpreting or practicum experience.
