Description
The Lead Teacher plans, organizes, and monitors classroom activities and educational programs for a Head Start Center. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, administering health and developmental screenings, assessing and documenting children’s progress, referring children with suspected problems, maintaining safe and sanitary facilities, conducting home visits, supporting parent involvement, preparing reports, and collaborating with staff and community agencies. The role also requires classroom supervision, early childhood education knowledge, an AA degree or related coursework, an Infant/Toddler CDA, and completion of required medical, background, and drug screenings.
