Description
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection is hiring an Associate Public Health Sanitarian to design, deliver, and evaluate Environmental Health and Safety training programs for DEP staff. The role includes in-person classes on hazards, respiratory protection, PPE, first aid, laboratory safety, waste management, wastewater treatment, and other EHS topics; training new sewage-treatment workers; developing curricula; maintaining training records; evaluating vendor programs; supporting OSHA and environmental-compliance requirements; and collaborating with supervisors and other units. Candidates must meet specified education and experience requirements, and selected candidates will be hired provisionally and must pass the relevant civil service examination to pursue permanent employment.
