Description
- The Electrical Design Engineer utilizes EPLAN to create electrical schematics, 3D layouts, wire routing schemes, and production instructions. They collaborate with clients to define electrical needs for machinery, designing control panels accordingly. This role also involves assisting the shop with design-related problem-solving, exporting BOMs and production data efficiently, and ensuring timely completion of designs without errors during assembly. Key responsibilities include understanding feeder and branch circuits, power distribution, MSHA electrical requirements, and familiarity with various electrical components like motor starters, soft starts, VFDs, relays, and PLCs. The engineer must maintain UL 508A certifications, understand Canadian CSA/cUL certifications, and contribute to cost reduction initiatives and warranty facilitation. The ideal candidate will possess strong drafting skills, extensive knowledge of electrical standards, and excellent communication abilities.
