Description
The Electrical Engineer will support Xcel’s integrated voltage-var optimization, fault location, isolation, and service restoration program by deploying automated field devices such as capacitor banks and protection devices. Responsibilities include system studies, device settings, coordination with design and field personnel, database updates, integration with advanced distribution management systems, issue tracking, and technical support. The role requires familiarity with power distribution systems, distribution-system modeling tools such as Synergi or CYME, MS Suite proficiency, and experience with capacitor bank controllers and SEL protection devices; Python and SQL are preferred. A BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a power-systems background and 2–3 years of experience is requested.
