Description
The City of Abilene is hiring for a multi-level Electrical Inspector role (Apprentice through III) responsible for inspecting residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations, reviewing plans and permits, enforcing City and National Electrical Codes, issuing stop-work orders, preparing inspection reports, and communicating with contractors and homeowners. Higher levels provide supervision, advise on alternate methods and materials, educate stakeholders on code changes, research construction-related legislation, and investigate fire-damaged structures. The role requires electrical installation experience, progressively advanced ICC certifications, a Texas driver’s license, and a Texas journeyman license, with field work across varied and hazardous environments.
