ASTRON is hiring a temporary Electronics Engineer (Embedded Systems) for one year under project funding. The role develops and tests an experimental adaptive-optics breadboard setup for pre-conditioning light in gravitational-wave cavities, simulates thermal and absorption effects, compensates for thermal deformations, integrates the setup into a 1064 nm laser cavity, and documents results. The position is primarily based in Dwingeloo, with project activities in Amsterdam and Delft, and offers a gross monthly salary of €3,630 to €5,758 on a full-time basis, along with pension, insurance discounts, travel allowances, and flexible work conditions.
