Description
Amazon is hiring an Embedded Software Development Engineer to build and scale VirtSat, a virtual satellite simulation platform for Amazon Leo. The role owns the Graviton bare-metal virtualization layer, including KVM/QEMU VM management, subsystem provisioning, software deployment, boot optimization, network virtualization, and emulation of satellite hardware and peripherals. The engineer will develop embedded software in Rust, C, C++, or other modern languages, maintain AMI and provisioning pipelines, debug host-guest interactions, and support satellite board bring-up and integration testing. The position requires at least three years of professional software development experience, Linux systems programming, virtualization or emulation experience, and a relevant bachelor's degree; it is based in Redmond, Washington, with a base salary of $143,700 to $194,400 annually.
