Amazon is hiring an Embedded Software Development Engineer II (C/C++) for its EC2 Nitro Fairness team. The role develops fairness algorithms, real-time resource schedulers, performance-isolation systems, and monitoring and observability systems that operate at microsecond latencies across millions of concurrent EC2 instances in the Nitro hypervisor. Responsibilities include architecture leadership, mentoring junior engineers, code reviews, workload analysis, hardware-aware optimization, and cross-team collaboration with hardware, firmware, and service teams.
