Description

Bascom Hunter is hiring an Embedded Software Engineering Intern to support the development, integration, testing, and verification of embedded software and firmware for aerospace and defense systems. The intern will work with C and C++, microcontrollers and processors, hardware/software interfaces, communication protocols, device drivers, test tools, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. The role is paid and offers full-time summer or part-time academic-year schedules, with flexible start and end dates.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: Experience programming in C or C++
Preferred Qualifications: Experience developing software or firmware for microcontrollers, microprocessors, FPGAs, or other embedded platforms
Familiarity with real-time operating systems or bare-metal embedded development
Experience with embedded communication interfaces and protocols
Familiarity with device drivers, bootloaders, or board support packages
Experience using debugging and laboratory equipment
Experience with Git or other version control and configuration management tools
Familiarity with Linux or embedded Linux environments
Experience with Python or other scripting languages for testing and automation
Understanding of software verification, testing, and debugging methodologies
Familiarity with aerospace or defense software development standards and requirements
Previous internship, research, laboratory, project team, or other relevant technical experience
Understanding of storage class specifiers, compilers, and memory management in C/C++
Other relevant hands-on engineering or software experience
