Cisco’s Common Hardware Group is seeking a software engineer for its Diagnostic/BSP team to develop BSP and diagnostics software for core and edge routing products. The role involves designing and testing kernel and user-space device drivers for FPGA and networking peripherals, creating software test plans, debugging prototypes, and validating software. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience or a master’s degree with 10+ years of experience, along with C, C++, and Python proficiency and strong embedded systems and device-driver development experience.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or a master’s degree
Required Previous Experiences: 12+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree
10+ years of experience with a master’s degree
Hardware and device driver development, including Linux hardware bring-up
Hardware and device driver development involving Linux hardware bring-up, multi-threading, event handling, and state machine implementation
Embedded systems and device driver development for I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and/or GPIO
