Apple’s Cellular Software team is hiring an engineer to design, implement, and verify Layer 1 control software and firmware for 5G/6G mobile wireless communications systems. The role involves developing scheduling and control algorithms, optimizing code for cycle, latency, and energy efficiency, collaborating with global teams, and defining interfaces with RF, physical-layer, MAC/RRC, and other subsystems. Candidates need knowledge of RF antenna characteristics, uplink power control, and real-time embedded algorithm design; 3GPP Layer 1 control knowledge and strong communication skills are preferred.
