Description
The Emergency Medical Technician responds to 911 emergency and non-emergency calls, assesses patients, provides basic and advanced life-support treatment, administers medications, transports patients, documents care, maintains the ambulance and equipment, coordinates with mutual-aid agencies, and provides community education. The role requires North Carolina or National Registry EMT certification, a high school diploma or GED, a valid North Carolina driver's license, and clearance through drug testing, background checks, and a fitness-for-duty assessment.
