Description
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responds to emergency calls involving illnesses, injuries, vehicle crashes, fires, and disasters; provides basic life support, stabilization, treatment, airway management, medication administration, patient transport, and documentation; operates and maintains ambulances; and communicates with dispatch and receiving facilities. The role may be full-time or on-call and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, EMT experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, a valid North Carolina driver's license, and North Carolina EMT certification.
