Description

The Emergency Medical Technician provides basic life support across 9-1-1 emergency responses and scheduled transport missions for Richmond Ambulance Authority. The role includes patient assessment, CPR and oxygen therapy, bleeding control, splinting, stretcher transfers, powered-lift operation, documentation, equipment inspections, incident-command coordination, and compliance with Virginia EMT-Basic scope, HIPAA, OSHA, and agency safety standards. The position is full-time, hourly, non-exempt, and requires rotating 12- or 14-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, Virginia EMT certification, a current CPR Provider card, a valid Virginia driver’s license, and completion of FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800; at least one year of EMT experience and familiarity with ePCR or CAD systems are preferred. The target pay range is $22.00 to $25.48 per hour.
