Google is hiring a Systems Development Engineer to maintain and improve its emulation lab infrastructure and develop next-generation solutions. The role manages servers, storage, networking, workstations, security systems, and vendor relationships; automates systems management; improves emulation workflows; monitors distributed infrastructure; and troubleshoots advanced Linux issues. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT-related field or equivalent practical experience, plus three years of IT operations, Linux administration, and scripting experience. Preferred qualifications include five years of experience in Linux internals, emulation or high-performance computing environments, programming or scripting, and cloud systems design. The position offers a US base salary of $138,000–$197,000 plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
