Description

tarte is seeking an experienced, hands-on engineer to join their technology team. The role involves contributing to Shopify Plus custom app development using Liquid, Node.js, and React, extending AWS Lambda functions for OMS integrations, and partnering with the OMS team on backend integrations. The engineer will also guide architectural decisions, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with marketing and merchandising teams to translate business needs into technical solutions. Additionally, they will conduct vendor evaluations, stay informed about Shopify Plus roadmaps, and explore AI-first commerce applications.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 7+ years of ecommerce engineering experience with strong, hands-on Shopify Plus experience, including Liquid, Shopify APIs, custom apps, Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Flow, metafields, and multi-market configuration.
Experience architecting integrations across the commerce ecosystem, including ERP, OMS, CRM, payments, and fulfillment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with GEO, LLM-based product discovery, or AI tooling within an ecommerce environment.
Experience working within founder-led, DTC, beauty, fashion, or lifestyle brands.
An understanding of what it takes to succeed in a fast-moving consumer brand where priorities can evolve quickly.
Curiosity about emerging ecommerce technologies and a desire to continuously test, learn, and improve.
The ability to balance technical depth with a strong understanding of the customer and the business.
