Shield AI is hiring a Staff Engineer in Modelling and Simulation to lead the architecture, development, integration, and operationalisation of distributed, real‑time and faster‑than‑real‑time simulation systems for Hivemind Mission Autonomy programs in Australia. The role involves high‑performance C++ software, defence simulation frameworks, containerised deployments, CI/CD, and technical leadership of engineering teams of five or more contributors, with requirements including a relevant tertiary qualification, extensive software engineering and systems integration experience, C++ and Python expertise, Linux development experience, and the ability to obtain an Australian NV1 security clearance.
