Description

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is hiring a full-time Engineer-In-Charge for its Design Unit - Section 3A in LIC, New York. The role reports to a Deputy Director and leads the design of capital roadway, sewer, and water main projects while supervising approximately four to six engineers and technicians. Responsibilities include overseeing ancillary work, coordinating with interagency and private utility companies, preparing contract plans and specifications, reviewing consultant designs, managing consultant contracts, preparing project reports and CPM schedules, coordinating utilities, and supporting construction. Applicants must have four years of full-time civil engineering experience, a valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License, and ACI Concrete Field Testing and OSHA 10-hour certification or access to DDC training; foreign educational credentials require independent equivalency verification. The City does not sponsor visas or hire temporary employees.
