Description

ASM is hiring an entry-level Mechanical Engineer for its Advanced Packaging team to support the design and development of semiconductor vacuum systems and related components. The role involves automation development with PLCs and SCADA, equipment troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, BOM and engineering documentation, CAD modeling with Creo Parametric, and basic mechanical calculations. Candidates need a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in mechanical engineering or a related field, engineering design or automation experience, mechanical-systems knowledge, CAD familiarity, and strong analytical and teamwork skills.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: Internship or academic project experience in engineering design, automation, or related areas
Preferred Qualifications: Internship or project experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing
Exposure to PLC programming or automation systems
Knowledge of engineering standards such as CE, SEMI, or NFPA
Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, or system integration
Familiarity with GD&T standards such as ASME Y14.5 or ISO
Experience using version control tools such as Git
