Description
The Transport Engineer will plan, forecast, monitor, and execute domestic US SONET and ULH/OTN mesh transport network builds. Responsibilities include capacity creation requests, equipment and cable engineering, inventory and provisioning-system updates, diversity and wavelength analysis, network forecasts, outage restoration coordination, stakeholder communication, and mentoring junior engineers. The role requires a bachelor of science in engineering, 5-10 years of progressive technical experience, SONET and DWDM knowledge, Visio diagramming, and availability for evenings, weekends, on-call work, and occasional off-site meetings.
