Description
The Engineering Assistant supports the County Engineer and Assistant Engineer with roadway and bridge maintenance, construction, safety inspections, contractor monitoring, project reporting, surveys, material estimates, and repair coordination. The role includes inspecting roads, bridges, drainage, road grades, and contractor work; preparing condition ratings, reports, maps, drawings, and CAD specifications; using GPS and nuclear density instruments; and maintaining project records. It requires a high school diploma or GED, four years of relevant experience or equivalent education, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain and maintain ALDOT Roadway Technician and Bridge Inspector certifications.
