The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Fort Worth District is hiring two Engineering Assistants through its Engineering Assistant Career Development Program. Engineering Assistant I and II staff rotate through transportation engineering functions including roadway design, construction, inspection, maintenance, surveying, environmental and transportation operations, while preparing for FE and PE licensing exams. The role involves engineering calculations, PS&E preparation, plan review, drafting/design, field data collection, survey support, public involvement materials, and use of roadway, structural, hydraulic, and computer-aided design systems. Engineering Assistant I requires no work experience; Engineering Assistant II requires one year of engineering-related experience and a TX Engineer In Training Certificate. Candidates need an engineering-related bachelor's degree or an accepted master's/doctoral substitute, a valid driver's license, and must meet physical and safety requirements.
