Description
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) San Antonio District is hiring an Engineering Assistant I or II for its Engineering Assistant Program, which trains recent graduate engineers through rotations in design, construction, and operations. The role performs transportation and civil engineering work including design, surveying, construction support and inspection, maintenance, environmental and transportation operations activities, PS&E preparation, plan review, drafting, engineering calculations, and field data collection. Engineering Assistant I requires no prior work experience; Engineering Assistant II requires one year of engineering-related experience. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or an accepted related science degree, a valid driver’s license, and a Texas Engineer in Training Certificate are required, with a pre-employment physical and drug testing for this safety-impact position.
