Description
The City of Durham is hiring a Planning & Development Inspector to ensure utility and road construction complies with applicable codes, specifications, permits, and plans. The role performs on-site inspections, tests water and sewer lines, reviews construction plans and Right-of-Way permits, inspects driveways and street conditions, approves street acceptance, oversees contracts, documents work, and responds to citizen concerns. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, three years of related experience, a valid North Carolina Class C driver’s license, and experience interpreting construction drawings for water, sewer, storm, roadway, and site grading projects.
