Apple is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a team building AI-powered developer tooling, including coding, testing, deployment, operations, and integration agents. The role combines hands-on technical leadership in Java and Python with engineering management responsibilities such as hiring and mentoring engineers, setting CI/CD and backend service standards, measuring developer productivity with DORA and SPACE metrics, conducting user research, and managing platform architecture and technical debt. The position requires recent software engineering experience, familiarity with AI agent frameworks, database and scalable service experience, and a degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
