Description
The Engineering Department Manager provides leadership and manages the workload and technical work of Berkeley County Water and Sewer (BCWS) Engineering personnel. The role supervises departmental employees, prepares and monitors budgets, evaluates engineering and construction projects, reviews plans and submittals, coordinates consultants and contractors, represents the department at public meetings, and handles permits, contracts, audits, environmental reporting, and public complaints. It requires a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or a closely related field, six years of supervisory experience, a South Carolina Professional Engineering license, and a valid South Carolina driver’s license; a master’s degree and computerized engineering experience are preferred.
