DigitalOcean is hiring a Technical Engineering Manager in Bengaluru, India to lead a mixed-skill team of back-end software engineers developing gRPC APIs and observability infrastructure. The role involves guiding engineering delivery, setting priorities and OKRs, collaborating with product, customer success, marketing, and other engineering teams, reviewing architecture, coaching engineers, managing escalations, and integrating customer feedback. Candidates need a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, at least 10 years of software engineering experience including 4+ years in senior leadership or management, and experience with cloud-scale distributed systems, Go/Java, and gRPC. The position is hybrid.
