Google is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead Software/Systems Engineers and own the availability, performance, scalability, and efficiency of key services. The role includes building automation, managing on-call rotations across continents, mentoring engineers, and delivering software that improves service reliability. It requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, 8 years of data structures or algorithms experience, 5 years of software development experience, and 3 years of people-management or distributed-systems experience; a master’s degree and additional people-management experience are preferred. Compensation is $207,000–$300,000 USD plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
