Description
Modal is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a group of experienced engineers in a hands-on leadership role split roughly between technical contribution and people management. The manager will set direction, remove blockers, and foster engineering culture while addressing complex challenges in distributed computing, large-scale data handling, and performance optimization. The role requires at least 10 years of industry experience, including 3 years in leadership, along with experience building high-performance distributed systems, strong cloud infrastructure knowledge, low-level operating system expertise, and proficiency in systems-level languages such as Rust, C, C++, or Java.
