Canonical is hiring a globally remote Engineering Manager for Distributed Systems Testing to lead a team responsible for quality engineering, automated testing infrastructure, CI/CD, and validation of distributed systems across Canonical's cloud portfolio. The role combines people leadership with technical contributions in software design, code reviews, debugging, and architecture, while partnering with senior engineers and engineering leaders to improve testing practices and enable reliable cloud-native deployments.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
Required Previous Experiences: Leading, coaching, and mentoring software engineers
Professional software engineering experience with Python or Go
Expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, quality engineering, or a closely related domain
Experience with Linux, preferably Debian or Ubuntu
Experience working in an agile development environment and organizing teams to deliver high-quality results
Preferred Qualifications: Debian or Ubuntu
Cloud technologies including Kubernetes, OpenStack, Juju, Terraform, AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
Designing testing strategies for distributed or cloud-native systems
Building or operating large-scale CI/CD and test infrastructure
