Description
Google is hiring a Software Engineering Manager for Compute Infrastructure to lead engineers across multiple teams and locations, manage a large product budget, and oversee the deployment of large-scale international projects. The role focuses on designing and analyzing computer systems interacting with kernels, hardware, cluster software, and Borg users; developing technical roadmaps; guiding systems design and code; and building a collaborative team culture. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, 8 years of software development experience, and experience with large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, storage, hardware architecture, and technical or people leadership. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related field, experience in a complex matrixed organization, and expertise with Linux, C++, cluster management, analysis, and performance optimization. Compensation is $207,000–$300,000 USD plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
