Discord is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead its Notifications team within the Growth organization. The role manages full-stack engineers building and operating Elixir services, Python backends, pubsub pipelines, and Kubernetes infrastructure for business-critical notifications reaching hundreds of millions of users. Responsibilities include setting technical direction, scaling reliable systems, partnering with product and other engineering teams, using experimentation and metrics to improve engagement and retention, and growing a high-performing engineering team. The position requires at least five years of software engineering experience with significant backend or infrastructure experience, plus two years of engineering management experience, and offers a US base salary of $248,000 to $341,000 plus equity and benefits.
